CHICAGO, IL – Executive Director Tyler L. Hough has been selected to join the Annual Convention Planning Committee for this year's Rainbow PUSH Coalition Convention in August. Co-chaired by Rev. Wilson and Rev. Cassius L. Rudolph, founder of the Black Liberation Theology Institute, Tyler joins national progressive leaders, community organizers, clergy members, and education leaders.

One of the themes for this year’s conference, preceding the Democratic National Convention, will be "Liberation for the Oppressed." Building upon the legacy of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr., and the founding principles of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the committee will recommit to the fight against systemic oppression. By addressing economic inequality, educational disparities, and social injustices, the coalition aims to create a more equitable society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, igniting hope for a brighter, more just future.

“At the core of Rainbow PUSH Coalition is the belief that every voice deserves to be heard and the Chicago Center for Urban Life and Culture has been critical in helping tell these stories for decades,” said Rev. Dr. Janette Wilson, Esq., Senior Advisor to Rev. Jackson and National Executive Director, PUSH for Excellence. “Tyler's expertise and leadership will be invaluable as we work together to foster informed civic engagement, advocate for social justice, and inspire this next generation for a brighter tomorrow at this year’s consequential convention.”

Tyler will be working with college partners to bring together young people to be part of this important movement.

“Joining the Annual Convention Planning Committee for the Rainbow PUSH Coalition is an incredible honor,” said Hough. “And allows me the privilege to work alongside leaders and community organizers to confront systemic oppression and advocate for social justice.”
