Chicago, IL - On October 10, 2024, The Chicago Center will honor notable alumni and partners at this year’s Global Citizenship Awards Ceremony. The annual event recognizes those who have made significant contributions to their fields and communities, embodying the Chicago Center's mission of fostering global citizenship and transformative learning experiences.
“For nearly 55 years, the Chicago Center has leveraged the power of place and people to create transformative student learning experiences. Our approach transcends boundaries, instilling in students an understanding of their actions' global impact.” said Executive Director Tyler L. Hough. “The Global Citizenship Awards Ceremony allows us to highlight the incredible work of our community and emphasize the importance of civic engagement and global citizenship.”
This year's honorees:
2024 Professional Alumni Achievement Awardee: Dr. Gwyneth Marr, FA‘04; Chief of Employee Experience, Tempe Elementary School District
2024 Alumni Community Impact Awardee: Jon Kapp, FA’94; Executive Director, Community Systems Foundation
2024 First Voice Awardee: Tiff Beatty, J’07; Associate Director, National Public Housing Museum
2024 Excellence in Academic Partnership Awardee: Dr. Barb Burdge; Chair, Dept. of Sociology, Social Work, and Criminology, Manchester University
2024 Internship Site Awardee: Association House of Chicago
